  • BONUS: From the UNT Student Money Management(SMMC) class on 10/31/12 – If you attend a SMMC workshop. Please complete a 250 word blog post that describes what you learned in the workshop and resources you will be using in the future to better plan/manage your money BEFORE December 7 , 2012 at 12 noon CDT to get extra credit (Hint: This will be a good option if you missed a blog post, submitted a late assignment or were tardy for class).
  • BONUS (from 10/29): In class on Monday we talked about body language and how you approach others (stance, eye contact, body position, etc) and how  non-verbal cues impact first impressions. For those of you who want to discuss your experience and thoughts on this in a 250 word blog post called “Power Poses.” To help with this response, please watch and reflect on the “Power Poses” video presented by Amy Cuddy. This is due BEFORE Friday, December 7, 2012 at 12 pm CDT.
  • BONUS (from 11/5): Eric Nadel, voice of the Texas Rangers, visited the Mayborn School of Journalism on Friday, November 5 at 3:15 p.m. If you attended this session post a 250 word blog post on some key points from his presentation.

    • BONUS: From the Wellness lessons – You were assigned to respond to one of the Wellness Lesson Plan blog posts. You are being given an opportunity for bonus points if you respond to another post (this cannot be the partner of the post you originally responded to – must be a new topic). Your response will be on YOUR OWN WordPress blog. Please be sure to reference the Wellness Lesson include a hyperlink to the post you are referring to IN YOUR RESPONSE blog post. This response must be 250 words minimum, can include any media (video, images, etc) that best support the reflection for this lesson and is due BEFORE Friday, December 7, 2012 at 12 pm CDT.
    • BONUS: Did You Know 3.0? BLOG: Time for you to reflect about how you think critically, and evaluate information that is posted online. Let’s apply your critical thinking skills using Bloom’s Thinking Taxonomy and Thinking Verbs (handout given in class) to a 200 word blog post as you reflect on the content of the Did You Know? 3.0 Video. What do you think about the facts presented in this video? How will some of these concepts impact your future major/career decisions? What questions or thoughts do you have after watching this video? Where might you go learn about more information about the facts presented in this video that are relevant to you?
  • RESEARCH SURVEY: Fall 2012 Learning Community Survey or direct URL This survey is open now and will remain open until Dec 14, 2012 – to get EXTRA credit it must be completed by December 7, 2012 by 12 pm CDT. The purpose of this survey is to gather information about students’ experiences of learning in a learning community.  You have been invited to take this survey because of your participation in a learning community during the Fall 2012 semester.  Your answers will be anonymous and will not be connected to this cover sheet and consent form.  The qualtrics survey asks for their name and their UGST 1000 instructor’s name then sends them to the actual Washington Center survey.  When you enter the survey, please indicate that you are in Learning Community ID #2.
  • #ugstJOUR LAST BLOG POST:  #15: Saying goodbye to #ugstJOUR – In a 200 word blog post, reflect on your first semester at UNT. What will be your take-away from this past semester? What are your lessons learned? How have you grown? Do you have a major/career in mind? What’s next?
  • CLASS EVALUATIONS: The SETE Evaluatoin & #ugstJOUR Evaluation are both DUE by Friday, December 7, 2012 by 11:59 pm CDT. To get bonus points for the SETE or the #ugstJOUR Survey, please take a screen shot of the final screen & email Laura to say it is completed. Bonus points will be awarded for both evaluations. #ugstJOUR Evaluation for UGST 1000.003 You will find the SETE in your portal.
